In this episode, the Clubbers are honored to have as a guest, living diva Paula West. A vocalist who doesn’t just sing a song, she inhabits it. Known for her razor sharp phrasing, smokey tone, and fearless interpretations, Paula brings a kind of emotional intelligence that feels both classic and completely modern. We talk about her journey from San Francisco stages to international acclaim, and her unapologetically bold approach to the Great American Songbook. An often avoided subject, the world political situation, is touched upon, as well her “on the nose” Facebook fashion reviews. Featured cocktail: The Black Raspberry Margarita. A refreshingly different take on a classic drink made with muddled black raspberries, tequila or agave, orange liqueur and lime juice. This one holds a true place in the “Kickapoo Joy Juice” hall of fame. We realize there are those that face challenges with alcohol.
